Alongside performing and teaching, Eric Berlin has long served the musicians and institutions around him: representing his colleagues at the bargaining table and in the boardroom, helping to lead the International Trumpet Guild, and judging competitions in Europe, South America and the United States.

Albany Symphony Orchestra

An orchestra committee represents the musicians and negotiates their contract. Eric sees maintaining standards and protecting the health of an arts organization as service to its whole community, and he has helped the orchestra with fundraising and advocacy, including writing its Annual Fund letter.

International Trumpet Guild

The Ghitalla board, honoring the former principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, planned a solo competition with funds he left for that purpose. The fund now supports a scholarship at the Juilliard School.
